Workflow to Enable Access to the HSI Platform

A facility's HSI Facility Role Administrator (HSI FRAand ONE® ID LRA manage access to HSI for staff at their facility.  Below is the general workflow for enabling access.

Phases Steps to completion

ONE® ID Set Up

The facility's ONE® ID LRA is responsible for setting up or updating ONE® ID accounts.

  • They use the ONE® ID Identity and Access Management System to enroll users to the applicable HSI service (See HSI and ONE® ID User Profiles for details.)
  • An email may be sent to new ONE® ID accounts users with instructions on how to set up their ONE® ID
  • Ontario Health processes ONE® ID changes and syncs them to HSI at 12 a.m. and 12 p.m. each day.

Note: ONE® ID accounts must be set up properly to complete next steps.

HSI User Action

  • First Time users of the HSI Platform must complete HSI Registration.  This step must be completed in order to complete next steps.

    • HSI–Users must wait for their HSI FRA to approve or reject their access request to dashboards.
    • HSI–Role Administrators are auto-approved to access the HSI Facility Role Administration Tool (FRAT) on the next login.
  • Existing dashboard users should reach out to their HSI FRA to request access to additional dashboards.  Update to ONE® ID and registration to HSI is not required.
  • Returning (previously revoked) users must complete ONE® ID enrollment set up and may need to reach out to their HSI FRA to reinstate them.

HSI FRA Action

The facility's HSI FRA is responsible for provisioning access to the HSI platform using the HSI FRAT.  If the access request is from:

  • A first time user who is enrolled in ONE® ID as a HSI-User, the HSI FRA can approve or reject access to dashboards.
  • An existing dashboard user requiring additional dashboards for the same facility, the HSI FRA can edit or add role profiles. The user does not need to update their ONE® ID or register in HSI again
  • An returning user who needs their access to be reinstated, the HSI FRA would approve/reject or edit/add access.  Note: If the user's Current Status is marked as Revoked, the HSI FRA must first toggle the user to Open by clicking on the Reinstate Facility Access link.
