About the Surgery Wait Times Dashboard

The Surgery Wait Times Dashboard provides recent and historical data on patient wait times for several surgical procedures. With information coming from the Wait Time Information System, the dashboard gives decision makers and planners a complete lay of the land assessment of surgical wait times. It can be used to identify trends and performance issues at different aggregation levels (Adult and Paediatric service areas and some selected procedures; Priority levels; Province, Region, Sub-Region, Facility, Site levels; monthly, quarterly and fiscal year aggregations).

Content

This report measures the following performance metrics:

First day of the month, quarter or fiscal year waitlist volume
First day of the month, quarter or fiscal year waitlist waiting over target (% and volume)
First day of the month, quarter or fiscal year waiting within target (% and volume)
Completed surgery volume
Completed surgery within target (% and volume)
Completed surgery over target (% and volume)
Number of cases added to the waitlist
Number of cases cancelled
Throughput ratio (Completed and/or Cancelled cases / Cases Added to the waitlist)
Wait 1 wait times – Wait time between referral received date and consult date (average and 90th percentile
Wait 2 wait times – Wait time between decision to treat and surgery date (average and 90th percentile
