About the Catheter Atrial Fibrillation (AF) Ablation Tool

The Catheter Atrial Fibrillation Ablation Tool is designed to deliver comprehensive insights into the volumes and wait times associated with catheter ablation procedures for atrial fibrillation. Data is organized by fiscal quarter and is available at multiple levels of granularity, including hospital, regional, and provincial levels. The primary objective of the tool is to support system monitoring and measurement activities related to atrial fibrillation ablation across the province.

Facility Volume Trend and Facility Wait Time Trend: These two tabs provide the following metrics at the provincial / facility level, based on where the patient receives care, and can be stratified into all AF, persistent AF and paroxysmal AF type

Facility Wait Time Comparison: This tab provides the following metrics, based on where the patient receives care and enables comparison across facilities and against the provincial performance   

Patient Home Region Comparison: This tab provides the following metrics, based on the where the patient resides (home postal code) and enables comparison across regions and against the provincial performance

AF Referrals and De Novo Rate:  Volume of completed procedures by persistent and paroxysmal referral type with a breakdown of De novo and repeat procedures for all referrals, shown by reporting period and facility
